Dublin Pedestrian and Bicycle School Safety Action Plan

Welcome! Help us make Dublin safer for students and families to get to and from school!

Thank you for visiting the online engagement site. The survey is now closed. You can still view the map, but you will not be able to add comments.

What is this survey for?

The City of Dublin is creating a Pedestrian and Bicycle School Safety Action Plan to make walking, biking, and rolling to school safer and easier for students and families. This short survey asks how you or your child travels to school and invites you to share concerns or ideas on an interactive map.

The survey focuses on schools located within the City of Dublin corporate limits, including some (but not all) Dublin City Schools, Hilliard Schools, and private schools (K-12). If you have children who attend different schools, you may add comments to the map about multiple schools and/or take the survey multiple times to provide information about each school.

Survey and map input will be used to identify priority locations and help shape recommended safety improvements along public streets and rights-of-way near schools located within Dublin (not private streets, driveways, or school-owned property). The survey and webmap will take 5-10 minutes to complete, and your input will help improve travel to school across our community.

How is Walking or Biking near schools within Dublin?

Please use the map to identify places around your child's school where you worry about safety or feel improvements are needed. We’ve included circles around each school, showing a 0.5-mile distance for school campuses. These circles represent distances that are generally considered feasible and age-appropriate for walking and biking to school.

  1. Choose your school from the dropdown list below and the map will zoom there.
(Schools not included in the list are outside the City of Dublin and not included as part of this study.)
  2. Click on an issue below (e.g., sidewalk, crossing, biking, or other) and add a point to the map.
  3. Answer the short questions that appear and click Submit.
  4. You may add as many pins as you’d like for specific spots such as places where crashes have almost happened, places where improvements could be made to make walking or biking easier, or routes that feel uncomfortable.
  5. When you're done, simply close the window. That's it!
